The Youth Support Service provides individualised support to young people in the community. This program targets those who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from school, family, work, or community.

We offer 1:1 outreach support and work collaboratively to identify and achieve client goals, focusing on increasing wellbeing, self-esteem, and independence. Our services include information, skill development, mentoring, advocacy, and connecting young people to other supports they may need.

Who is eligible?

Young people aged 12-21 in the Cassowary Coast Region who have complex needs impacting their wellbeing and are willing to engage in case management with our Youth Support staff.

The Youth Support Service can help young people to:

  • Increase self-reliance and independence
  • Connect with support for drug and alcohol misuse issues
  • Improve emotional wellbeing
  • Connect with mental health support
  • Increase social connectedness
  • Connect with family and culture
  • Navigate pregnancy and parenting
  • Engage in the local community
  • Access support for disability or learning difficulties
  • Participate in education or training
  • Address barriers to employment
